Many clients come to us with concerns about their skin such as hyperpigmentation, sun damage, acne, and scaring. MOBO Providers often may recommend a combination of medical depth chemical peels, microneedling, and skincare. MOBO carries the #1 brand of medical grade peels, the VI-Peel. This powerful yet well tolerated line includes proprietary blends of tricyclic acid, Salicylic acid, Phenol, Retinoic acid, Vitamin C, Kojic acid and minerals. They come in five formulations for specific skin results. VI Peels remove the damaged outer layers of skin revealing smooth, glowing skin underneath. VI Peels help to improve the tone, texture, and clarity of the skin while reducing age spots, sun damage, and hyperpigmentation. It also softens fine lines and acne scars while stimulating collagen production for firmer, more youthful skin. Because the formula includes phenol, a numbing agent, it is comfortable and often combined with botox and filler procedures. After a peel, you can notice a significant improvement in your skin; but it’s okay to repeat the treatment after every 4 to 6 weeks to fix problematic and damaged skin.

When should I schedule my peel?

Peels should be scheduled with the peeling process in mind. Peeling can start 1-2 days after treatment, and last up to day 7. Most clients continue to go about their life and have peeling that resembles post-sun-burn peeling (though some patients can experience severe sheet peeling). In other words, we do not recommend scheduling a peel right before an important event or photos.

Why is Autumn the perfect time to get a VI peel?

Anytime is a good time to get a VI Peel, but we like to call Autumn “Peel Season” for a few reasons. First, summer is over and it’s time to kick the sun damage to the curb. Autumn is also a great time to get a peel because your skin is sensitive during the peeling process and therefore, you should avoid the sun’s rays. Take care of your new, fresh skin by applying SPF (even in the Autumn) and following the VI peel app recommendations. 

Can I schedule other treatments the same day as my VI Peel?

Vitality Institute undertook a major study to prove that their products are safe to be combined same-day with injectables, so most Botox® / Dysport® and fillers can be done on the same day as your peel! Dermaplane may also be done prior to the peel.

Peel Instructions:

1-2 days before… You do not need to do anything different prior to VI Peels.

Immediately after… You will be given written instructions as well as a downloadable app to guide you through the peeling process. You will also be given a skincare kit to use for the 7 days after your peel. Follow the instructions 4 hours after the peel to cleanse and use the included towelette. We ask that you do not apply makeup or other products to the skin for four hours after the peel procedure. Starting the next day, it is ok to wear make-up, CC cream, etc.; however, makeup does not lay well on peeling skin and may make the appearance of visible peeling look worse.

The following week… It is recommended that you continue to protect your skin to maintain the benefits of the peel even after the initial week. Use only the skincare provided to you. Take your daily selfie on the VI app!

What to avoid… No exercise for 72 hours. Avoid any heat like saunas, hot tubs or hot showers for 72 hours post peel. Do not pick the peeling skin - instead you may trim it gently. Avoid direct sun exposure. Avoid alpha- and beta- hydroxyl acid products, retinols and facial products containing fragrance for 7 days after the peel.

Follow-up… Let your provider know if you show any signs of infection, irritation, inflammation or complication following the peel.
